After a couple of months of speculation, it is confirmed that Dakota Fanning will be joining Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart in the next installation of the Stephanie Meyer Twilight franchise, New Moon.

Fanning, 15,  will play Jane, a member of the ancient Italian vampire clan the Volturi. If you’ve read the books, Fanning’s angelic look is perfect for the part.

ET is reporting that Dakota Fanning is being considered for the lead in “New Moon,” the sequel to the smash hit of 2008 “Twilight” starring Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart.

The child star will also star in the upcoming movies “Push” and “Coraline.”
