Lookin' good

The picture above is one of the “weight gain” pictures taken of Jessica Simpson in January of this year.   Her “weight gain” caused such an uproar that even FOX News did an unkind article about it.  Granted, she doesn’t look anorexic, but neither does she look like “Two Ton Tessie”.  
It has been reported that Simpson will star in a new reality show, The Price of Beauty.  Not sure when the show will air, however Simpson will begin traveling in July talking to women all over the world and from different cultures to find out how far and crazy they will go in the attempt to be beautiful. 
Sadly,  many women  who watch television and movies, and read magazines, buy into the “Madison Avenue” idea of beauty.  You know, “If you buy this makeup, hair coloring, diet pill, exercise equipment, exercise video, perfume, face lift, butt lift…(the list could go on forever but you get the idea) you will be as beautiful as the person in the ad”. What crap! Some women are literally dying to be beautiful.  They starve themselves, exercise obsessively, have cosmetic surgery on every (yes, every) inch of their bodies and in the end the price they pay is ruined health or, even death.   Hopefully, Simpson’s reality show will feature real women, living real lives.  Most likely, there won’t be interviews with women who are struggling to survive, let alone caught up in being beautiful.

After much drama surrounding Jessica Simpson’s weight, the singer/actress strutted her stuff Sunday at the Strawberry Festival in Plant City, Florida.

Sporting a flannel shirt, a bodice, and her signature Daisy Dukes (the roles she played in the 2005 remake of The Dukes of Hazzard. Rock on, Jess.

Jessica Simpson’s Weight Drama

I was trying to avoid blogging about all of the drama surround Jessica Simpson and her weight. I mean, really, is there just not enough celeb gossip around that everyone has to flock to this one picture:

So she’s a bit curvier.  Is that cause for weeks of commentary? With head lines like:  “Inside Jess’ Weight Battle: ‘Jumbo Jessica insult’ ” (Us Weekly); “WOW! Jessica Simpson Debuts Her New Curvy Body” (People); “Jessica Strikes Back at Critics: I’m Not Fat” (OK!). Websites also were critical of her high-waisted jeans.

I think we should start snapping pictures of some of these bloggers and reporters and see how they stack up! Sister Ashlee Simpson-Wentz and her hubby Pete Wentz, and Kim Kardashian have come to her defense, telling people to lay off. I agree.
