In December 1994, Christian Slater was arrested when he tried to board a flight at New York’s John F. Kennedy Airport with a gun in his luggage. In 1995, he reached a plea agreement and received a sentence of community service – working with homeless children for three days.
The bad-boy actor was arrested again on August 11, 1997 for beating his then-girlfriend, fashion editor Michelle Jonas, and for biting a man who attempted to protect her. He was reportedly drunk and high on drugs during the brawl. When the police arrived, Slater did not go quietly, but hid in a stairwell and fought with officers. He was charged with three counts of assault with a deadly weapon and one count of battery. All the felony charges against him were eventually dropped. He was released on good behavior after 59 days in jail.
Christian Slater’s legal troubles continued when he was taken into custody in 2005 for allegedly groping a woman on a Manhattan street. He was charged with third degree sexual abuse when he was arrested. In mid-July, he turned down a plea deal offered to him, insisting that the accusation was wrong. In September, prosecutors agreed to dismiss the charges on condition he stay out of trouble for the next six months.
