Canadian-born actor Joshua Jackson, familiar to TV audiences as sensitive party boy Pacey Witter on ‘Dawson’s Creek,’ was arrested on November 9, 2002 for assault, disorderly conduct and public intoxication in Raleigh, North Carolina during an NHL hockey game between the hometown Carolina Hurricanes and the visiting Pittsburgh Penguins at the RBC Center. Jackson was taken to a Wake County jail after allegedly attacking 40-year-old security guard Drew Grissom by throwing punches and grabbing him around the neck while the actor was drunk (he registered a blood alcohol level of .14; the legal limit in North Carolina is .08).
The then-24-year-old star of ‘The Mighty Ducks’ and ‘Skull,’ was released on the following day after posting a $1000 bail. Joshua Jackson was later ordered to complete 15 hours of alcohol and substance abuse education, 24 hours of community service and pay a fine of $150 in exchange for the dismissal of the drunk and disruptive charges.
